What did Elazar do in the Bible?
Eleazar was one of his father Aaron’s assistants during the Israelites’ journey through the desert. He was primarily responsible for items from the Tabernacle like the menorah oil, the anointing oil, the incense, the grain offering, the Ark, showbread table, and altar. After his father Aaron died, Eleazar became the High Priest and served for over 20 years. During that time, he helped anoint Joshua as the successor to Moses. He was buried in Giva in the tribal portion of Ephraim, in the region of Samaria in the Land of Israel.
