Deborah, the fourth judge of Israel, accompanied Barak and the Israelite army to the battlefield. After their victory, Deborah and Barak sang a beautiful victory song. As a result of this military success, the Israelites lived in peace, under the leadership of Deborah, for forty years. Despite her leadership qualities, military intelligence and closeness to God, Deborah defined her role as a “mother in Israel.”
